The mutual trade between Kazakhstan and China is expected to reach US$35 billion by 2030. In particular, domestic enterprises are ready to increase exports of food products to China. In this regard, removal of trade barriers and restrictions is of great importance, Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov said at a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao. In turn, the Chinese side expressed interest in importing agricultural products from Kazakhstan as well as partnering in the IT sector and increasing transport volumes. The meeting also discussed the issues of opening the third railway crossing point, the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, and the construction of highways. According to the Chinese Ambassador, Kazakh companies are supported when entering major trading platforms. He emphasized that the bilateral economic relations between the two countries have great potential for further active development.
