Automotive industry share in Kazakhstan’s machine building reaches 57% this January

The automotive industry continues to drive Kazakhstan’s mechanical engineering, accounting for a 57 percent share of the sector this January, as reported by the Kazakhstan Automobile Union. Over 11,000 vehicles with a total value slightly exceeding 149 billion tenge were produced in the country. Last year, the figure amounted to 9,000 units worth 101 billion tenge. Passenger cars dominate production, accounting for over 10,000 vehicles manufactured in the first month of 2024, a 22 percent increase from the same period last year. Next comes the production of trucks, buses, trailers, semi-trailers, and other specialized vehicles. To date, 92 percent of the country’s automotive output is concentrated in Kostanai, and 15 percent in Almaty.
