Exhibition dedicated to Botai culture opens in Astana

An exhibition in Astana dedicated to one of the most important symbols of the cultural heritage of both the Kazakh land and the entire Turkic world includes unique items from the fund of the North Kazakhstan Regional Museum Association and the Presidential Center, representing the life of the people living in the Botai settlement in the late Neolithic era. The exposition amazes with its genre diversity, along with nearly 50 creative and plein air works by Kazakh and foreign artists. Photos and videos about the ancient archaeological site discovered in the North Kazakhstan region in 1980 by a group led by Professor Viktor Zaibert are also presented. Besides valuable artifacts, items of masters of decorative and applied arts, as well as an interactive zone with a reconstruction of ancient production sites, are displayed. The exhibition entitled ‘Botai - Culture of the Great Steppe’ is held as part of the ‘Kazakhstan’s Path’ cultural and educational project aimed at promoting the country’s historical heritage. It will be open to guests and residents of the capital until March 11.
