International digital forum underway in Almaty
The sixth Digital Almaty 2024
International Forum is currently being held in Almaty. Over 200 experts,
including prominent figures from the IT and business startup scenes, are
engaging in discussions covering topics such as digital mining, public
administration, cryptocurrency exchanges, education, and cybersecurity.
Notably, on the forum’s first day, it was announced that the Kazakh-developed
Sergek video surveillance system will now oversee road safety in Indonesia. The
pilot project has already been launched in the city of Balikpapan. This
exported intelligent transport system will focus on analysis, monitoring,
transport forecasting, and addressing environmental issues.
“Our pilot project in Indonesia
marks the second pilot initiative in Southeast Asia. The first took place in
the Philippines, specifically in the city of Baguio. Currently, we are in
discussions with cities across the Philippines regarding contract agreements.
We will certainly provide updates in due course. In addition to Indonesia, we
are also exploring opportunities in other
Southeast Asian countries, as well as in the Middle East and East Africa,”
said Alyona Tkachenko, Director of Global Markets at a company.
There are also plans to hold an
exhibition featuring major Kazakh subsoil users, technoparks, and technological
companies that will share their experiences and information about projects in
the IT ecosystem. This provides an opportunity for domestic companies to
showcase their potential. According to the organizers, this year’s business
program will center on digitally rethinking production, transforming core
processes, addressing environmental issues, and implementing new technologies
