Kazakh Foreign Minister meets CSTO Secretary General

Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu held a meeting with Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Imangali Tasmagambetov in Astana. The parties exchanged views on upcoming events scheduled under Kazakhstan’s chairmanship of the CSTO this year. Special attention was paid to the discussion of various organizational matters related to the meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers slated for June. The meeting agenda also included a wide range of issues on key areas of cooperation within the CSTO, including developing political interaction and countering challenges and threats. Kazakhstan took over the CSTO chairmanship starting January 1, 2024.
