Kazakh Government instructs to simplify and expedite public procurements

Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov gave an instruction to drastically simplify and expedite public and quasi-public sector procurement procedures with an increase in the share of domestic goods at a government meeting. To this end, stimulating mechanisms, which also support new production facilities, must be developed. Bektenov outlined the necessary work for government agencies, which primarily includes promptly working out certain measures with experts and the business community as well as involving them in legislative amendments that are currently under consideration in the Kazakh Parliament. The situation must be fundamentally changed, the Prime Minister noted. Besides, the meeting focused on the issues related to the launch of a unified digital platform for public administration called ‘QazTech’ and the reformation of housing policy.
