Kazakh President instructs to ensure stable gas supplies to domestic market

Kazakhstan’s gas industry has attracted $12 billion of investment. The country is actively implementing large-scale infrastructure projects, including processing of Kashagan gas. The Chairman of QazaqGaz national gas company Sanzhar Zharkeshov reported on the company’s performance for 2023 during a meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Zharkeshov noted that several large gas pipelines have been put into operation in the country. These infrastructure projects worth more than 400 billion tenge contribute to social and economic development of the regions.

“Regarding the expansion of the resource base of commercial gas, QazaqGaz has introduced new Anabai gas fields. Thus, over a 19 percent increase in commercial gas supply to the domestic market has been achieved.  Gas was provided to about 112 settlements in accordance with the country’s gas infrastructure development,” said Zharkeshov.

Following the meeting, President Tokayev issued a series of instructions. They pertain to the comprehensive development of the gas industry, along with ensuring stable gas supplies to the domestic market, expanding the resource base, and improving the investment attractiveness of the industry.
