Kazakhstan, EU enhance cooperation

Senate Chairperson Maulen Ashimbayev and Vice President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas discussed the current state and prospects for further strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union. The parties addressed the expansion of trade, economic and investment interaction, including the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. Ashimbayev expressed the Senate’s readiness to continue enhancing interparliamentary relations and maintain regular dialogue, as well as presented the political and socio-economic reforms being implemented in Kazakhstan at the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. On his part, Schinas emphasized the effectiveness of Kazakhstan’s course in implementing reforms and expressed interest in further fortifying bilateral relations.
