Kazakhstan intends to expand cooperation with UK

Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom are set to expand cooperation in the fields of tackling climate change and water resource management. To date, the UK is not only an important trading partner but also one of Kazakhstan’s largest investors. Since 2005, the country has invested more than $17 billion in Kazakhstan. In general, the positive development of trade and economic relations, Kazakh-British political dialogue, as well as cultural and humanitarian contacts were emphasized during the meeting of ambassadors of the two countries in the city of Astana. The parties noted their interest in signing the bilateral Strategic Partnership and Cooperation Agreement. Besides the primary objective, the document will allow to create favorable conditions for the development of trade and investment relations. It should be noted that the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the UK amounted to $1.18 billion last year.
