Kazakhstan receives $46 million grant from World Bank for healthcare development

The Kazakh Health Ministry has received a $46 million grant from the World Bank’s Pandemic Emergency Financing Facility to enhance the country’s healthcare system. The country grant from the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe amounted to $19 million, while the multi-country grant totaled $27 million. The funds, aimed at addressing issues in epidemiological surveillance, border control, laboratory safety, early detection and response, as well as staff training, will be disbursed over three years. The WHO Country Office in Kazakhstan will coordinate the grant implementation and provide overall technical support to the country’s Health Ministry.
