Kazakhstan’s horse population grows

In Kazakhstan, there has been a significant increase in the horse population. According to the Energyprom.kz portal, the growth over the year amounted to five percent. Statistical data indicates that as of January 1 of the current year, the country’s horse population stood at four million. The highest number of horses was recorded in the Turkistan region, with Karagandy, Abai, Aktobe, and West Kazakhstan also ranking among the top five regions. The foal population saw a 5.4 percent increase over the year, reaching 1.1 million, while horse mortality decreased by more than 11 percent.
