Kazakhstan, Spain to cooperate in underground water exploration

Kazakhstan is set to utilize innovative technology in the field of underground water exploration. It is planned to involve a Spanish company engaged in drawing up detailed maps of minerals and other natural resources, including water. The data obtained in this way will help in the search for wate r and will optimize expenses related to it. It should be noted that this method is widely used in the U.S., Australia, Canada and Europe.

“We aim to gradually increase the share of the use of restorable underground waters in the economy and drinking water supply.  Thus, the experience of Spain in exploring water resources can be very useful. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the strategic partnership between our countries. Water is a crucial resource, so we will consider all possible areas for bilateral cooperation,” said Beksultan Begaliyev, Spokesperson for the Kazakh Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.
