Kazakhstan to produce modern solar panels

Modern solar panels are planned to be manufactured in Kazakhstan. To this end, work is underway to construct a plant, according to the country’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The production of solar panels will involve HIT (heterojunction with intrinsic thin layer) and PERC (passivated emitter rear cell) technologies. The manufacturing equipment will be delivered within one or 1.5 months, and the production line is to be quickly transformed into a full-fledged plant with a capacity of 50 megawatts. A total of 300 units of panels are expected to be produced this year, and 6,000 units in 2025 and 2026 each, with plans to increase the figure to 30,000 panels per year. It is noteworthy that in the global market, similar products are made only in Germany, Japan and China.
