New city may appear in Kazakhstan
A new city will appear in Kazakhstan. It will be formed from the Zhetigen village, located in the Almaty region and will be given a new name which is Alatau. The corresponding draft decree of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has been submitted for public discussion until November 29. The country’s government has been instructed to take the necessary measures. It is noteworthy that the Zhetigen settlement with a population of about 20,000 people is located fifty kilometers from Almaty metropolis. There is also an airfield in the village vicinity. Today, the Almaty region is actively developing. This year, construction of a new railway line was launched in the region to strengthen the country’s transit and transport potential, and a special economic zone was created. By 2048, it is planned to attract nearly 3.7 trillion tenge in investments and produce goods and services worth more than 17 trillion tenge within the SEZ.
