Kazakhstan exports nearly 120,000 tonnes of aluminium

Since the beginning of the year, Kazakhstan has exported over 120,000 tonnes of aluminium. The value of the consignments sent amounts to over US$250,000. Turkey, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Switzerland, China, Montenegro and Uzbekistan are the main buyers of domestic metal. There are also imports of aluminium. According to Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development, the volume imported during seven months of this year is almost 550 tonnes. The ministry spokespeople stated that metal prices have risen, but they couldn’t confirm whether the military coup in Guinea is the reason for that. Meanwhile, according to Bloomberg, the price of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange hit a 10-year high. One tonne was valued at almost US$3,000. All is due to the fact that Guinea accounts for up to a fourth of the world’s production.
