Kazakh government approves comprehensive development plan for Ekibastuz city

More than 932 billion tenge (US$2.1 billion) will be allocated to a comprehensive plan for the social and economic development of the city of Ekibastuz until 2025. It was approved at the Government’s meeting. According to Kazakh Minister of National Economy Asset Irgaliyev, the plan that will give a new impetus to the development of the city consists of 114 events. They are aimed at the implementation of investment projects, the development of housing construction, infrastructure, the social fields and the solution of environmental problems. The minister noted that it is planned to build and restore power units at two thermal power plants of Ekibastuz in the energy sector. In general, the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan will improve the quality of life of the city’s population. 16,500 new jobs will be created, the income level of the population will increase by almost half.
