Investments in agriculture increase by third in one year

Last year, the volume of investments into agro-industrial complex increased by a third and exceeded 773 billion tenge (US$1.8 billion). Such data is provided by Finprom.kz. Almost half of all investments in the sector were directed to the North Kazakhstan region, in total more than 161 billion tenge (US$371 million). Pavlodar region follows next, where the agro-industrial sector has attracted 104 billion tenge (US$240 million). Akmola region closes the top three. Investors have invested almost 102 billion tenge (US$235 million) in the development of agriculture in this region. The agricultural sector is financed mainly at the expense of enterprises' own funds. The volume of capital in this segment reached 543 billion tenge (US$1.2 billion). Then there are non-bank loans, credits and funds from local budgets. More than 2 trillion tenge (US$4.6 billion) has been allocated to support farmers over the past 5 years.
