Afghan women to get higher education in Kazakh universities

50 Afghan women will receive higher education at universities in Kazakhstan. This became known at the Consultative Meeting of Special Representatives of the EU and Central Asian countries on Afghanistan in Tashkent. The issues of restoring the Afghan economy and implementing joint infrastructure projects were discussed at the meeting. In addition, the Special Representatives expressed support for the initiative to create a multifunctional transport and logistics center in the Uzbek city of Termez for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

“We see Afghanistan as a friendly and peaceful country that would like to trade with its closest neighbors and would certainly make its feasible contribution to regional security. Afghanistan must stop being a source of threat. We have decided to continue educational programs in Afghanistan. This year, 105 girls have been recruited who will have the opportunity to study at universities in Central Asia. Of this number, 50 will study in Kazakhstan, the rest in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan,” said Talgat Kaliyev, Special Representative of President of Kazakhstan for Afghanistan.
