Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan trade turnover exceeds US$100 million since start of 2022

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan since the beginning of the year has exceeded US$100 million. This is two-thirds more than in 2021. The countries fruitfully cooperate in energy and agriculture. Thus, our country exports wheat to Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan, in turn, purchases chemical products from them. In addition, the countries plan to strengthen partnerships in the field of rail, road and water transport, as well as logistics. Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Kazakh Senate discussed joint work in this direction with Chairman of the Upper Chamber of Turkmenistan’s Parliament Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov. The unified tariff policy will allow the countries to increase cargo traffic along such routes as Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran and Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Afghanistan.
