Kazakhstan and Austria intend to expand cooperation

Kazakhstan and Austria are expanding cooperation. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi and Austrian Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer stated this during the negotiations in Vienna. During the talks, the Kazakh diplomat introduced the political and socio-economic reforms carried out by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The parties also discussed the current state and prospects of trade and investment cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the issues of cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, including the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. The parties stressed that our country makes a great contribution to the energy security of this European state, since 40 percent of Austrian crude oil imports come from our country. In turn, Austria is one of the important trading partners of Kazakhstan in the EU. In 2021, the mutual trade turnover exceeded US$163 million. And the rates are growing this year, thus, the trade turnover between the countries amounts to over US$52 million within four months respectively.
