Kazakhstan introduces package of legislative amendments to deregulate construction industry

New reforms will be introduced in the construction industry. According to the legislative amendments, market entities will be provided equal opportunities when receiving land plots, stated Yerkebulan Dauylbayev, Kazakh Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development. He noted that the adoption of a package of legislative amendments will allow for a more equitable distribution of construction volumes, which in turn will improve the quality and transparency of the work performed.

“By introducing new regulations, we plan to expand the opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses to participate in public procurement, as well as restrict the activities of illegal and unproductive subcontractors and non-qualified licensees,” said Dauylbayev.
