Kazakhstan offers favorable work conditions for German investors

The prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation in various economic sectors were on the agenda at a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and Germany. Annalena Baerbock and Mukhtar Tileuberdi held talks in the Kazakh capital. The parties stated that on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the states, Kazakhstan and Germany have achieved a high level of a trust-based political dialogue and strong partnership in trade, economic and investment spheres. It was also noted that the negotiations would  identify potential projects and develop new mutually beneficial niches.

“Kazakhstan is an attractive country for investment. In 2021, we managed not only to return to the pre-pandemic level of foreign investments flow, but also to increase it by 38 percent. Last year, gross inflow of foreign direct investments in Kazakhstan amounted to US$24 billion, which is 37 percent higher than in 2020. Germany is the world’s fourth-largest economy, but the country is not yet among the top ten investors in our economy. Kazakhstan offers the most favorable working conditions for German investors and entrepreneurs,” said Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi.

“We are planning to open a hydrogen diplomacy office in Astana. This bureau is expected to become a hub for the exchange of experts and competent persons from our countries. The purpose is absolutely clear. By using green hydrogen, we intend to reach net-zero emissions in industry and transport sectors. Apart from that, we want to protect the welfare of the people in our countries,” said German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock.
