Kazakhstan increases coal exports
Kazakhstan ramped up coal supply to foreign markets by almost 20 percent this year, which depended directly on the black coal reserves. In monetary terms, exports grew by 2.2 times, energyprom.kz reports. Overall, Kazakhstan has exported 22 million tonnes of coal over eight months of 2022, mainly to Russia that purchased over 13 million tonnes. The top three included Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan as well. Kazakhstan exported a total of about eight million tonnes of coal to other countries, which is also twice as much as last year. In monetary terms, the volume of exports increased by over 8.5 times, having reached almost US$452 million. It bears noting that most of the supplies were sent to Switzerland, Poland and Cyprus.
