Kazakhstan increases investment in education by 1.5 times

Kazakhstan has increased investment in education one and a half times. In the first seven months of 2022, the amount reached over 219 billion tenge, which is 49 percent more in monetary terms than a year earlier, the finprom.kz reports. In the same period of 2021, investments in the sector comprised almost 147 billion tenge, with Almaty metropolis accounting for the largest share of investment. The top three also include the Turkistan region and Shymkent city. It bears noting that almost two-thirds of investments in education, which is 136.5 billion tenge, were provided by the local budgets. Enterprises’ own funds made up over 51.5 billion tenge, the state budget provided around 22 billion tenge, and the rest were bank and non-bank loans.
