Kazakhstan’s rail freight turnover grows 7% in first quarter of 2023

The Kazakhstan Temir Zholy railway company transported over 39 million tonnes of cargo within the country and exported more than 22 million tonnes in the first quarter of 2023. The growth in freight turnover was achieved by changes in logistics and increase in shipping distances, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy press service reports. Coal, grain, chemical fertilizers, oil, and construction materials were among the goods sent for export.
