Kazakhstan intends to reduce dependence on imported sugar by increasing its domestic production.

There will be no shortage of sugar in Kazakhstan until the end of summer.

Alikhan Smailov urged the government agencies, mayor’s offices and the quasi-public sector to be as active as possible in their work. 

In the regions, it is sold in limited quantities in order to not let resellers speculate.

Sugar prices in Kazakhstan continue to hit record high, ranging from 400 to 800 tenge per kilogram in the regions of the country.

Agriculture Minister Yerbol Karashukeyev signed the corresponding order.
