Pfizer vaccine becomes available to all Kazakh citizens

The Pfizer vaccine is now available to all Kazakh citizens for vaccination and revaccination. This decision was made by the country’s chief state sanitary doctor. In the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan, the Pfizer vaccine is available not only in polyclinics, but also at the vaccination points at the malls. The interval between the last coronavirus vaccination and the second full course of immunization must be at least three months.

“As you know, initially there were numerous requests, and we proceeded on this issue in stages. First, a special group of people who had the opportunity to do so was identified. They were mothers with many children and children under the age of 18, as well as a circle of people who travel abroad on foreign trips - we gave them permits. In addition, in the subsequent stages, those who are 60 years old were allowed to receive this vaccine, and then those who are over 50 years old. To date, we have considered all the possibilities”, said Yeraly Tugzhanov, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister.

Herd immunity in Kazakhstan has been fully achieved, Tugzhanov noted. To date, about 10 million Kazakh citizens have been vaccinated against COVID, which accounts for 80 percent of the population eligible for immunization, or 52 percent of the total number of all citizens.
