WHO may register QazVac as early as end of this year

The World Health Organization may register QazVac vaccine as early as the end of this year, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov said in an interview to the Egemen Qazaqstan newspaper. He explained that all facilities and equipment of the sanitary and epidemiological service of the country must comply with international standards for this.

“Last year, we brought Kazakhstan to the second level of the national regulator in almost seven months. This fact was confirmed by a special commission of the WHO, which checked the compliance of our country with international requirements. I think that we will be able to reach level 3 by the end of this year,” reported Yeraly Tugzhanov.

The coronavirus vaccination campaign is currently ongoing in the country. According to the latest data, about 9.5 million people have already been vaccinated with the first component of the medication, and a little more than 9.2 million – with the second. Over 3.6 million Kazakh residents received a booster dose.
