Kazakhstan reports 1,477 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

1,477 new cases of the coronavirus infection were registered in Kazakhstan in the past day. The highest number of 573 infected patients was recorded in the city of Almaty. 493 people caught the infection in the country’s capital. 91 cases were detected in Almaty region. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in Kazakhstan has exceeded 1,318,000. According to Kazakh Health Ministry, over 8,700 residents continue to receive treatment for coronavirus to date, 680 out of which are in hospitals of the country. More than nine million people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Nearly five million received a booster dose.
