Kazakhstan, Belarus mark 29th anniversary of diplomatic relations

Kazakhstan and Belarus marked 29th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. During this time, the countries became reliable strategic partners that continue to actively develop cooperation in various sectors. This is confirmed by a number of signed bilateral agreements and documents, which number exceeded 80 to date. Overall, the parties are planning to focus on social and economic partnership until 2026 as part of the special agreement signed between the two states. In the short term, Kazakhstan and Belarus set an ambitious goal to bring mutual trade turnover to US$1 billion a year. This will be facilitated by the implementation of joint projects, including within the EAEU.

“We have very close contacts between parliamentarians who provide assistance and close contacts between the governments. We have a bilateral trade and economic commission headed by deputy prime ministers. We have working groups in industrial area, agriculture, science and technology. We have good business cooperation. There is a joint council of business cooperation. That is, institutions, which promote to development and support of economic entities, are set at the state level,” said Pavel Utyupin, Belarusian Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
