Kazakhstan moves up in UN e-government development index

Kazakhstan moved 10 positions up in the global ranking of the United Nations’ E-government Development Index, taking 29th place now, ranking.kz website reported. This is the best result among the CIS countries over 2020. The index is calculated on the basis of three indicators: the development of electronic services, human capital and telecommunications infrastructure. It evaluates 193 UN member countries. In general, Kazakh Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry allocates a tremendous amount of budgetary funds to developing the eGov platform. Thus, as part of the project, 79 billion tenge (US$186 million) this year, almost 62 billion (US$146 million) next year and 42.5 billion (US$100 million) in 2023 were allocated from the state budget.
