Mazhilis approves amendments to law on ballots for referendum

Members of the Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament approved amendments to the Constitutional Law regulating the forms of ballots at the upcoming national referendum. The document will be submitted for consideration to the Senate. According to the changes, ballots with no answers will be invalidated. The ballots with all options marked will be valid, although they won’t be taken into account during voting anyway, the Mazhilismen said. The national referendum on amendments to the Basic Law of the country was announced by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on April 29.
