K. Tokayev receives OSCE/ODIHR Director Matteo Mecacci

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Matteo Mecacci. The parties discussed the state and prospects for the development of cooperation in the field of democracy-building, human rights and the rule of law. The Head of State welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Kazakhstan's Ombudsperson for Human Rights Office and ODIHR. President Tokayev told the ODIHR Director about the main goals and objectives of the ongoing large-scale reforms. Mecacci, in his turn, stressed the readiness to further strengthen cooperation with Kazakhstan, saying that the country is an important partner for the OSCE.
