Foreign experts share opinions on Kazakhstan’s reforms

Decentralization of the public administration system will allow the formation of a strong apparatus of the Kazakh Government. Therefore, the course for the political modernization and development of civil society in the country, set by President Tokayev, is a timely decision. Such an assessment of the reforms carried out in Kazakhstan is given by foreign experts. Together, these large-scale transformations will have a positive impact on the future of Kazakhstan, said founding chairman of the Central Asia - Caucasus Institute, S. Frederick Starr. According to him, the political modernization announced by the Kazakh President will give path to the building of a new prosperous, democratic and fair state.

“The President spoke in detail about the development of the state not only for the coming months, but also for many years to come. First of all, I would like to draw attention to the fact that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gives priority to an independent judiciary, without which it is impossible to imagine a secular state. The next thing he drew attention to was the role of parliament and the election of MPs. I am sure that these and other steps have found active support in society,” said S. Frederick Starr.
