Provide separate entrances and exits at polling stations, install hand sanitizers and set special marks for people to maintain social distance. Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan announced on the quarantine requirements during the upcoming parliamentary elections. Chairpersons of election commissions will monitor compliance with sanitary rules. Duty health workers inside the buildings must measure temperature. Mobile laboratories will be additionally provided in the regions, which are in the “red” and “yellow” zones in terms of coronavirus spread. All members of election commissions, proxies and observers will have to take PCR tests.

“The PCR test must be taken five days before the start of the election. People should be tested from January 5 to 9. The test will be free at the expense of the Mandatory Social Health Insurance. You will need to contact the local health departments and register by January 3,” said Aizhan Yesmagambetova, Chairperson, Sanitary and Epidemiological Control Committee, Kazakh Health Ministry.
