Association of Kazakh-language media operating abroad established in Kazakhstan

The Association of Kazakh-language media operating abroad has been established. The project was implemented by the Otandastar Foundation with the support of the Kazakh Ministry of Information and Social Development. According to the foundation, there are currently 88 Kazakh-language mass media outlets operating abroad. Uniting them into a single association will lead to an increase in the Kazakh-language information space, the initiators believe. Following the meeting held in Nur-Sultan, Nurtore Zhussip, a member of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament, was unanimously elected Chairman of the Association.

“Of course, the language is often influenced by the linguistic environment of our compatriots living in Russia, Mongolia, China or somewhere in Uzbekistan or Turkey. The purpose of this association is to create an information space and to preserve the nature of the Kazakh language and its purity. This is first. Second, as the Head of State said: “it is time for the Kazakh language to become interethnic.” After all, if the Kazakh language continues to flourish by expanding its scope of application, it will become increasingly popularized,” said Nurtore Zhussip, member of Senate, Upper House of Kazakh Parliament.

According to the organizers, a single website for all the media included in the Association will also be launched. The portal will allow participants to share experiences, study materials and engage in dialogue.
