Bokei Horde exhibition opens in National Museum of Kazakhstan

A new exhibition entitled "Bokei Horde - Heritage of the Country" opened in the National Museum of Kazakhstan. It is dedicated to three anniversary dates, namely the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence, the 220th anniversary of the Bokei Horde, and the 180th anniversary of the first school in the country - the Zhangir Khan school. The exhibition featured nearly 40 information stands that tell the story of the Horde. It is more than two centuries of chronicle of the place founded by Bukei Khan and transformed by Zhangir Khan, where culture and art, education and trade were actively developed in the 19th century. The visitors can also see over 50 original photographs and over 70 rare exhibits. According to the organizers, this exhibition is not only interesting for its content, but also will help to develop tourism in the region.

“At present, measures are being taken to promote tourism in the Bokei Horde. Despite quarantine restrictions, 10,000 tourists visited the region during the first 10 months of the year. In the next five years, there are plans to bring this figure to 30,000. To that end, measures had been taken to develop infrastructure,” said Nurlybek Daumov, Mayor, Bokei Orda district, West Kazakhstan region.
