Duo of Kazakh dombyra players wins at international competition in Spain

Kazakh performers are once again conquering world music. Dombyra players Temirlan Olzhabai and Yernat Nauryz were recognized as the best at the Music Box International Contest in Spain. Contestants from 36 countries competed for the statuette in the nomination ‘Instrumental Music’. The international competition was held online in two stages. In the first round, the dombyra players arranged ‘Caprice No. 24’ by Niccolo Paganini. In the second round – the soundtrack from the most popular series ‘Game of Thrones’, having shot a music video for the contest. According to the results of two stages of the competition, Kazakh musicians managed to win the hearts of the jury members and get the highest score. As a prize, they received a trip to an offline festival in Spain in May, as well as an individual master class with famous music experts. The talented dombyra players have already managed to receive the Bridge TV award in the Best Instrumental Duet nomination. They took the first place at the Golden Time Talent international festival, and also took part in the Costa Brava Music festival in Spain.
