MP demands to carry out audit of programs for teaching Kazakh language

How effective are state language educational programs? Mazhilis member Yerlan Sairov demanded to conduct an audit of programs with Kazakh language of instruction. He became interested in how the funds allocated for education are spent, how many people have already completed courses, and whether government agencies use volunteer projects that can methodically help those who study Kazakh? The MP urged the competent authorities to report to the public on these issues. According to him, the current extremely difficult geopolitical situation requires a revision of many aspects of Kazakhstan’s domestic policy, including language. Kazakh should become the core of cohesion, unity of society and the pillar of the country’s consolidation, the MP believes.

“One of the profound issues is the language policy, including the problem of learning the state language. Teaching the state language, studying its aspects with a diligent approach should lead to mutual respect, brotherhood. It is very important that our native language becomes a symbol of unity and social cohesion. Here it is extremely important to conduct an audit in terms of the effectiveness of state language teaching programs, the ability to provide real assistance to those who study it,” Sairov said.
