Concert of oriental music takes place in Kazakhstan’s capital

Amazing and mysterious orient in the language of music. A concert of the Symphony Orchestra of the Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev State Academic Philharmonic took place in Nur-Sultan. Its soloists presented the pearls of the musical art to the residents of the capital, united by the theme of the orient. The concert program included popular melodies by legendary Kazakh and foreign composers. Saltanat Orynbayeva performed the best of them on her violin. Laureate of international and national competitions Kalkaman Dyussembayev was the maestro of the concert.

“We came up with the idea to organize this concert a few months ago. One of the compositions at the concert was ‘Scheherazade’, which has long become my favorite orchestral work by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. When I played in the orchestra, I dreamed of conducting this composition. The time has come. The concert program is international and includes Camille Saint-Saëns, Armenian composer Alexander Arutiunian, Rimsky-Korsakov and our Kazakh composer Kurmangazy. Oriental motifs can be found in every composition,” said Dyussembayev.
