Kazakhstan establishes Asanali Ashimov award

Kazakhstan established a new award in the field of art - ‘Asanali’. It is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the legend of theatre and cinema, Labor Hero of Kazakhstan, People’s Artist Asanali Ashimov. The award will be presented to the best actors, directors and screenwriters of the country. The winners will be selected by a special expert group. They will watch all the films and performances with the nominees.

“There will be no age or genre restrictions. The commission began its work today. We will discuss the best theatre works in recent years, select candidates, applicants, and after having a discussion, we will choose the winners,” said Yerkin Zhuasbek, Director of Kazakh State Academic Drama Theater.
