‘Alash’ ethnic auyl – new impetus for tourism development

The ‘Alash’ ethno-village opened in Karagandy region on the territory of the Zhoshy Khan historical and cultural complex. The village is distinguished with the format of living history, where you can learn about traditional customs, enjoy national melodies and swing on altybakan. The life of the Kazakh people was recreated in yurts. The new attraction became another decoration of the complex, bringing the increasing number of visitors to it. Many tourists come from Canada and Mongolia. The Zhoshy Khan complex combines a historical and cultural center, a mausoleum and a museum. A seven-meter monument of the Khan was erected here as well. Residents associate many legends and stories with his name, which attracts a lot of tourists.

“The main goal of our project is to develop the economy and tourism, revive and promote national traditions and customs. It is possible to do now, since we have many tourists, foreign nationals inclusively. We have a lot of plans,” said Bektursyn Aitentegi, the director of the ethnic auyl.
