Kazakh President pays visit to Center for Nuclear Medicine

From now on, it will be possible to detect early-stage diseases, including hard-to-diagnose cancers, cardiovascular diseases and neurological disorders in Kazakhstan thanks to the Center for Nuclear Medicine, which is scheduled to open in the capital in September. Today, the facility was introduced to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who also visited a diagnostic and treatment unit. The distinctive feature of the latter one is a positron emission tomography scanner that has no equivalent in the countries of Central Asia and the CIS. President Tokayev met with doctors and scientists as well. He expressed confidence that the activities of the Nuclear Medicine Center would contribute to the improvement of the health of Kazakh citizens and increase the availability of advanced medical technologies for them.
