Book on Kazakhstan’s anti-nuclear experience presented in New York

A presentation of the book ‘Atomic Steppe: How Kazakhstan Gave Up the Bomb’ took place at the office of the Permanent Mission of Kazakhstan to the United Nations in New York. It was held as part of a meeting of the UN General Assembly, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reports. The author of the work is a prominent expert in the field of nuclear disarmament Togzhan Kassenova. The book is dedicated to the history of a global ban on nuclear tests at the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site and the process of giving up nuclear weapons stockpile, which remained in Kazakhstan after the collapse of the USSR. The author plans to release the book in Kazakh in the near future.
