Over 100 delegations from more than 50 countries are expected to take part in the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. Experts say that such a representative list emphasizes the importance and relevance to the global community of the topics to be discussed at the congress. Religious figures and spiritual leaders will hold talks on the role of religions in strengthening spiritual and moral values in the modern world, the contribution of religious figures and politicians to the promotion of global interreligious dialogue, as well as countering extremism, radicalism and terrorism. According to Li Guangfu, Chairperson of China Taoist Association, the representatives of traditional religions of China have always taken an active part in all the Congresses, and they intend to visit the upcoming one as well.

“The success of the Congress in promoting dialogue and exchange of views among various religious movements of the world, international security and social harmony is obvious. The VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions will soon kick off in Nur-Sultan. Amid the pandemic which has not yet been completely brought under control, the organization of such an event requires a lot of work and efforts on the part of the Kazakh government. I’m looking forward to the moment when, together with representatives of other religions, we will discuss and share the views held by each religion since the world has faced the coronavirus pandemic. I believe that together we can contribute to the peaceful and stable development of humankind,” said Li Guangfu.
