Assalaumagaleikum Festival kicks off in Aktobe

The Assalaumagaleikum International Puppet Theatre Festival kicked off in Aktobe. The unique event brought together creative teams from Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Artists from Buryatia, Ingushetia, Bashkortostan, and Kyrgyzstan will also present their puppet shows. It is worth noting that the actors will not only delight young viewers with their stage performances and participate in various masterclasses, but will also compete for ‘Best of the Best’ title in various categories.

“The festival has begun and I’m so happy to see my colleagues and young spectators who now have the opportunity to get acquainted with the culture of other peoples, and just plunge into the atmosphere of the theater, that is one of a kind in my opinion. In general, the puppet theater is unique in its figurativeness,” Assiya Kurmanalina, Director of the Aktobe Regional Puppet Theatre ‘Alakai’, said.
