Tourism boom in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is experiencing a tourism boom. According to the Bureau of National Statistics, almost 3.5 million foreign nationals visited the country in the first nine months of 2022. Most of the travelers came from Russia, Turkey, China, the U.S. and Germany. The guests mainly visited the cities of Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, and also the Akmola and Zhetisu regions. 1.5 million people decided to visit the Almaty mountain cluster, about 224,000 tourists traveled to the Shchuchye-Burabai resort area, over 210,000 went to the Mangystau resort area. More than 338,000 journeyed to Lake Alakol, and almost 94,000 people visited the resort area of Turkistan.
