Kazakhstan’s rescue team returns home from Turkey

The second echelon of Kazakh rescuers safely returned to their homeland from Turkey. The plane landed today at Astana airport. It was on this aircraft that Kazakhstan delivered humanitarian aid to Gaziantep.

It should be noted that the first echelon of rescuers arrived in Almaty the previous night – these are employees of the Emergency Situations Ministry and medical workers of the Disaster Medicine Center. From February 7 to February 19, they worked to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake and pulled victims out of the rubble on the territory of three provinces, namely in Nurdagi, Gaziantep and Hatay. The rescue team comprised over 100 people. These are rescuers from Astana and Almaty cities and the Karagandy and Akmola regions, as well as medical workers. The country’s Emergencies Ministry stressed that the tasks have been completed in full.
