Photo exhibition dedicated to 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence and Victory Day

The contribution of Kazakhs to the Victory in the Second World War is invaluable. This is evidenced by the historic materials presented at a photo exhibition in Moscow. A huge part of exhibits here tells about the exploits of Kazakh heroes at the front and in the rear, participation in the battles for Moscow, the liberation of Belarus, Poland, as well as decisive participation in the battle in Berlin. Several stands are dedicated to the outstanding Kazakh women who participated in the WWII. A total of 16 stands with photos were installed on the Chistoprudny Boulevard. The exhibition organized by the Kazakh Embassy in Russia will run until May 16.

“According to the census of those years, there were 6.5 million people in Kazakhstan. 1.2 million engaged in combat, went to the front. More than 600,000 of them did not return from the battlefields. We can say that nine out of ten bullets were cast from Kazakhstan’s lead. This is a very important date in the life of our countries, our states, our peoples, because this is one of those events that serves as the basis for us to preserve and develop our future cooperation,” said Yermek Kosherbayev, Kazakh Ambassador to Russia.
