Experts: economic growth of a country is directly related to its environmental situation

The economic growth of a country is directly related to the state of its environment. This is what experts say. Today they announced the results of a study of environmental problems in Kazakhstan. These results were the basis for the creation of the collective monograph on the  country’s environmental risks. The book, developed by national scientists with the participation of international experts, contains ideas and recommendations in the field of water resources management, air pollution, land degradation, waste management, development of alternative energy sources, climate change and biodiversity conservation. The main message of the book is to make people reflect on the importance of biodiversity conservation and environmental concerns.

“The title of the book speaks for itself, namely that tomorrow it will be too late. We must address this problem now and in a systematic way. Why is Kazakhstan receiving so much attention? Because in Kazakhstan there are a huge number of wild breeding animals, there are saigas and deer living in our vast lands. As for fish, there are many sturgeon fish in our waters. This is why we are at the center of international attention. The neighboring countries of Central Asia, China and Russia can also take into account our risks and rely on our research, thereby influencing the socio-economic situation,” said Kuralai Karibayeva, Director, Institute of Ecology and Sustainable Development.
